The idea of Apple making a smartwatch is nothing new. We have heard this rumor a number of times in the past. Just like the Apple HDTV, we are waiting for the company to pull the trigger on this project at some point. Multiple sources are now reporting that Apple is experimenting with wristwatch-like devices running iOS and featuring curved glass. Both New York Time and the Wall Street Journal have reported this.
Apple needs to innovate and come up with products that are attractive to its customer-base. A smart watch that could perform certain functions of a smartphone could be a hit. Considering the attention devices such as the Pebble Watch have been getting, Apple maybe onto something here. The fact that these rumors suggest the iWatch will run iOS means it will be more than just a fancy watch with Bluetooth. There is no word on when this iWatch will hit the market though.
Many iPhone and iPad owners update their devices to the latest version of iOS as soon as an update is released. Not all iOS updates are perfect though. Some of them do cause problems but Apple usually fixes those fast. Some iOS users are now complaining that iOS 6.1 causes battery drain and overheating issues. The Apple Support Communities forum is full of people complaining about iOS 6.1 issues.
As MacRumors has reported, Vodafone UK is now asking iPhone 4S owners not to upgrade to iOS 6.1 due to issues with wireless performance. Not all devices are affected though. Apple will most likely fix this with a software patch in the near future.
Are you experiencing battery or wireless issues after upgrading to iOS 6.1?
