Apple seems to be making a habit of losing those iPhone prototypes. Everybody who has been following the latest iPhone news knows about the whole Apple – Gizmodo debacle. Apple seemed furious about its iPhone prototype getting lost and being picked up by the media. That whole episode did get Apple a lot of coverage (good and bad). One might think that Apple would get its act together to avoid any future leaks, at least as far as iPhone HD is concerned. That does not seem to be the case as Apple seems to have lost yet another prototype. Images and more details have started to surface all over the Internet. Either Apple has been careless or it wants these leaks to keep people talking about its device.
It is not clear whether this prototype is the real thing. After all, we have seen fake iPhones in the past. There are many similarities between this prototype and the one found by Gizmodo, only missing 2 screws on its bottom. The Vietnamese site that posted the story did go further than Gizmodo by including a tear-down report of what’s inside this prototype. Apparently, the new iPhone takes advantage of a flavor of A4 processor, which is used in iPads.
At this point, we can’t confirm whether this is a real leak. It’s almost too easy to fall for fake Apple products. If this prototype is indeed authentic, one has to wonder why Apple has been dropping the ball so many times lately. Maybe the company wants the leaks or is incapable of avoiding these leaks. The real truth probably lies somewhere in between.
