Apple Investigating iPad WiFi Issues, 600k Macs Infected

Check out these uniquely awesome ✔️ iPhone gadgets & gizmos

It seems most iPad 3 owners are already over the heatgate issue. That turned out to be a non-issue. Even Consumer Reports which has been harsh on Apple products in the past confirmed the heating issue to be a non-issue. But it seems some iPad owners are experiencing WiFi issues on their tablets. According to an internal AppleCare document, Apple is actively investigating WiFi issues on its new tablet.

Do you keep losing your connection on your iPad 3? If your router has not caused you such issues in the past, chances are your iPad may be flawed. User Wes1234 had this to say on an Apple’s Support Communities page:

Having problems with dropouts and loss of wifi signal on new iPad that don’t occur with my iPad1.  This happens to me both at home (with my Airport Express) and at work using the University’s wifi.  Typically signal starts out strong when new iPad is turned on but disappears or becomes so weak that refreshing web pages is extremely slow or does not occur.  iPad1 works fine under same circumstances.

Apple’s internal document suggests slow WiFi speeds or total loss of connectivity are the issues some iPad owners are dealing with. Apple has instructed the AppleCare team to replace the affected units. The document does suggest only WiFi iPads are affected by this.

The iPad is not the only device giving Apple headaches these days. Hackers are now going after Mac computers. Many Apple fans have come to believe that Mac devices are almost immune to viruses and Trojans. But a Flashback Trojan variant has already infected over 600k Macs. Apple has released a patch for Java to fix this but not everyone has downloaded it. Over half of the infected Macs are located in the U.S.

This Trojan takes over computers by exploiting security holes in Java. While Macs are not plagued with malware like Windows machines, they are not virus-proof either. The good news is it is easy to figure out whether your Mac is infected and fix the issue for now.

Is/was your Mac infected with the Flashback Trojan?
