Apple Event Coverage: Water Resistant iPhone 7, Swimproof Apple Watch
0Apple’s big event is finally over. The company was expected to announce a whole host of new products and features, and it didn’t disappoint. For starters, the company announced Apple Watch Series 2 with GPS, water resistance to 50 meters, and a dual-core processor. It also has a display 2 times brighter than before. With its advanced activity tracker, you get activity sharing, coaching, achievements, and more. There is even a Breathe app. Apple Watch Series 2 and the Nike+ edition will cost $369.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus also got a faster processor and better cameras. They are also splash and water resistant. They are available in 5 finishes, including black and jet black. The iPhone 7 has a 12MP camera, optical image stabilization, and 7MP FaceTime HD camera. The iPhone 7 Plus has a 12MP wide-angle and telephoto cameras with optical zoom at 2x and digital zoom up to 10x.
The new iPhone has an A10 Fusion chip twice faster than that of iPhone 6’s and a longer battery life. You don’t get a headphone jack but an adapter will be made available to customers (for free). iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will cost $649 and $769 respectively (32 GB base model).
Finally, Apple introduced AirPods, which are wireless earbuds with double-tap Siri activation. They also pause your music when you take them out. They will be available in October for $159. The iPhones will be available on pre-order starting September 9.
