Apple Still Top Brand , iOS Devices To Get Longer Battery Life?
0No matter how great iPhone and iPad devices are, we all would love for them to offer longer battery life. Our smartphones have been getting better over the years. It is only a matter of time before they become smarter in power management. A recent patent application filed by Apple (found by Apple Insider) suggests that the company is working on implementing smart power management to save iPhone battery life:
A method for modifying one or more characteristics of a mobile electronic device in order to save or reduce power consumption of the device. The method includes determining by, a processor of the mobile electronic device, an estimated use of the mobile electronic device during an upcoming time period; using the estimated use, determining, by the processor, whether an internal power source of the mobile electronic device has sufficient power to continue operation of the mobile electronic device in a first state during the upcoming time period
This means your smartphone is going to get a whole lot smarter in the future and figure out ways to save battery life. The patent application suggests users will have ways to customize the system to get more out of their iDevice. The idea is pretty solid though. It remains to be seen how much longer an iPhone using this power management system can last.
Apple is not only working on improving its devices but is continuing to offer a great experience to its customers. As a Harris Interactive poll has suggested, Americans still give Apple brands strong ratings. We are talking about tablets, smartphones, and computers. Amazon is offering Apple a run for its money in the tablet PC market but Apple is still #1. Not surprisingly, the data does suggest Apple will have to step up its game to continue keeping its high ratings.
