Amazon.com has just started selling iPads. Amazon is behind Kindle and is quite unwilling to consider Apple iPad a direct competitor in the e-reader market. Regardless, the company has decided to sell Apple iPad on its website. Many industry experts have considered the iPad to be a big problem for Kindle to overcome. Apple may not have the market lead with iBooks store but it is selling iPads like hotcakes. It seems Amazon is not too worried about iPad killing off Kindle.
All iPad models are now up for sale on Amazon.com. Unlike Apple store, Amazon does not charge a sales tax, though consumers are responsible for paying that to the government. Amazon may have just started selling Apple iPad but it will continue to heavily push its Kindle products. As long as people keep buying e-books from Amazon (Kindle app is available on iPad too), the company wins.
