Amazon recently launched a cloud music service to upstage Apple and Google. Amazon Cloud Drive is an innovative service that gives music fans a ton of free space, allowing them to upload their music and add their purchased songs from Amazon to their account. Amazon’s Cloud player was originally compatible with Android only. A recent update now makes it possible for Amazon Cloud Drive customers to listen to their music on their iOS devices.
There won’t be a native iOS app for this service for the foreseeable. Apple and Amazon have already clashed over the Kindle app. But Amazon has managed to find a way around Apple by offering its service through the web. This approach is not perfect. Since Apple iOS does not support Flash, you will be limited on things you can do with Cloud Drive on your iPhone or iPad. For instance, you won’t be able to upload files to your account from these devices nor can you organize your songs as conveniently as you can on a computer. We are doubtful Amazon will find a way to get a native version of this app approved by Apple.
