Apple certainly knows how to hit a triple. At least if we are to believe the latest reports from major news sources such as Fox. It seems Apple will finally reveal Apple tablet, iPhone 4, and iLife 2010 at an event planned for January 27th. This piece of news is nothing new as many expected Apple to announce its new products soon. But perhaps it’s coming sooner than most of us expected. Top media outlets have gotten their invitation already (see the above image) and wheels have been set in motion for Apple to finally give its customers what they have been wanting for months.
Apple doesn’t do anything by chance, so you better believe there is a hidden message behind the invitation sent to the media. It does look like Apple is preparing something that can be used by artists and maybe the creative bunch. After all, how would you explain the spray-painted blobs in the invitation? I am still not sold on the idea of Apple announcing tablet, iLife and iPhone 4G at the same event. Not that it can’t happen but due to the fact that Apple talks about its latest “creation” in the invitation, we may not get to see all the things that Apple has been working on. Of course, if the rumors are true and Apple tablet is a large iPod Touch, then it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Apple to introduce the next generation iPhone next to its tablet. But I am personally not counting on Apple announcing its touchscreen 22″ iMac at the event.
So what can we expect from Apple tablet? It will probably come with a brand new OS that can handle background applications. The introduction of the next generation iPhone software should provide developers with a road-map on how to bring their iPhone applications to Apple tablet. Apple has clearly done a lot of work to make its tablet ready for prime-time, so it’s be interesting to know how much we all have to pay up for such a device. The figures we have heard are in the $800-$1200, and the real price will probably fall somewhere in the between. The device won’t be cheap, but you can be assured that it’s going to be a hit. In fact, it’d be very disappointing for Apple if it’s not a huge hit.
