The Apple Watch is not a cheap smartwatch. You certainly wouldn’t want a thief to be able to activate your stolen watch easily. Unfortunately, it is very easy to reset a stolen Apple Watch. Apple is changing that by introducing Activation Lock. It is a security feature in watchOS 2 that requires your iCloud Apple ID and password to reactive your watch.
Apple Watch is also getting native apps, watchfaces, and a whole host of other features. This security feature might discourage some thieves from going after these smartwatches. We would love to see Apple add even more security features to the device.
