We all know the oldest story in the book. You make a product that becomes highly popular, and you find a bunch of naughty individuals who will test you by trying to cause problems for your product. I am talking about hackers and crackers. Microsoft has had to deal with these guys for years now. Their OS is used on most PCs and as such many are left vulnerable to potential hack attacks. Now with iPhone becoming oh so popular these days, you can bet your house that there will be some hack attacks in the near future. In fact, we have already seen some.
It is naive to think that hackers and crackers will be kind enough to ignore Mac OS based devices. At the end of the day, it is the matter of scale. If Apple is saying that 4 mil people are using the iPhone, then that gives a huge opportunity to naughty programmers to exploit that fact to damage or steal data from these people. I do believe that Apple makes fairly secure software, but no software is unbreakable and iPhone users should brace themselves for more troubles to come.
