There are many awesome maps and navigation apps available for iPhone. You could use them to find your way to your destination faster. Apple also has an app for those of you who want to keep track of your friends’ locations. Sharing your location and ETA with your friends and colleagues is a good practice and quite easy to do using an iPhone. These 7 iPhone apps make that possible:
Twist: a handy tool that allows you to share your time of arrival with your friends and colleagues. It is available in the US, CA, UK and AU.
En Route: an elegant application you can use to share your location, ETA, messages, and photos with individuals and groups. You can share your ETA whether you are walking or driving.
zLocation: a free tool to use to create and share your location with your friends. They won’t need this app to see your location. It is Facebook and Twitter friendly. This could prove useful for meet-up events.
Glympse: lets you share your location with your friends in a safe fashion. When your timer expires, your location disappears. No need to sign up for an account to use this (see the above video).
MeatText by MapBox: enables you to quickly share your location with your friends via text message, email, or Twitter.
im.here: pretty simple tool to use. It makes sharing your location with others (via Facebook, Twitter, Email, and SMS) as easy as clicking a button.
INRIX: one of my favorite ETA apps here. This is a powerful tool that helps you stay out of traffic. More importantly, you can share your INRIX arrival times with others.
