You may have heard that iPhone has got its very own Sirius/XM application. The addition of satellite radio content will give you even more content to listen to when you are on the go. I personally have never been that impressed with satellite radio, but it has its fans, and I am sure it will have its following on iPhone as well. But a few folks are up in arms over Howard Stern, the legendary personality, not making it to Sirius app. Here is how Howard Stern explained it:
It was a rights issue and a whole entanglement thing… So, we’re not on it. Maybe one day we will be.
I am not sure that explanation will satisfy the Howard Stern nation. I have personally never been a fan of Mr. Stern, but I understand his fans being upset with this whole issue. After all, Howard offers so much content on satellite radio that it’s almost unthinkable for him not being available on Sirius app. Now I don’t know how successful this initiative will be for Sirius. But if I were Sirius, I’d feel more confident about my app’s chances with Howard Stern.
[Update] The folks behind Howard Stern show have announced that they are still trying to get Howard Stern on Sirius app for iPhone. I am not sure how much you can read from these tweets, but it’s good news that these folks are realizing the importance of having Howard Stern on iPhone.
Your take: is Howard Stern being left off of Sirius application a deal breaker?
