Ukama Lets You Run Your Own Cellular Data Network
0Here is a kit that lets you run your own open source cellular data network. Ukama simply requires an internet connection and power source. It comes with a cellular base station, a home/tower node, a management console, and everything you would need to run your own network. While data remains free within the coverage area, you have the option for global data roaming coverage outside of it.
Ukama supports the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS). You can use it to run your own network or cover a town. A billing mechanism is also available. The home node supports up to 8 concurrent devices. The Tower node has a rugged design and can handle up to 128 devices. The amplifier unit serves as a 4G/5G signal booster for the Tower node. Ukama uses a cloud based operating system with open interfaces.
