Rico: Use Your Old Smartphone for Home Security

Many of us upgrade our old phones every year or so. If you still have those old smartphones sitting around, you could use a solution such as Rico to put them to good use. Rico is a smart home security system that uses your spare smartphone as its eyes and brain. It offers a HD camera, humidity/temperature/CO/air quality/motion sensors, a microphone, a loud speaker, 3G, and WiFi connectivity.

The Rico app lets you monitor your home from your smartphone and receive alerts when things are not quite right. With Rico smart sockets, you can get even more control over your appliances.
