Concussion is a huge issue for athletes. It shouldn’t be too difficult for athletes and coaches to realize when it’s time for a break. Wearable devices such as the Jolt Sensor can also help. This is a small clip that attaches to head-worn athletic equipment and tracks dangerous hits. It is waterproof and can withstand exposure to dirt, dust, sweat, and rain. The Jolt vibrates when it detects a dangerous hit. It also alerts parents and coaches on their smartphones (iOS and Android).
The Jolt Sensor is compact and does not take away from an athlete’s performance. When it detects a hit, it reminds coaches and parents to get their player checked. Coaches can use this solution to track their entire team. Like what you see? This project is on Kickstarter right now.
