Smartphone breathalyzer are nothing new. In fact, we first heard about the DrinkMate a while ago. It was a compact device that turned Android smartphones into a breathalyzer. The developers have now announced an iPhone version. The device plugs into your iPhone’s lightning port, allowing you to read readings using the companion app.
DrinkMate’s companion app shows your BAC on your screen. Since you are just blowing into your DrinkMate, it is possible to share the device with others. There are no mouthpieces or battery involved. The accuracy is +/- 0.01% BAC at a BAC of 0.02%. Like what you see? You can find out more on Kickstarter.
