Apple Black Friday 2011 Deals Leaked, iTV Rumors Live on
0Apple already has a brilliant TV device in Apple TV. It is a compact but powerful box that lets its owners access Netflix and other Internet content on their HDTVs. We have been hearing rumors about Apple’s plans to enter the TV market for a couple of years now. If the latest rumors are right, we may get to see an Apple HDTV very soon.
Apple is already moving its business to Sharp. That move is understandable considering the intense competition between Apple and Samsung. The company may also introduce an iHDTV in the middle of 2012.
It’s a huge deal for Sharp because they spent significant amounts of capital to try and expand capacity and upgrade their facilities … It gives Apple a partner that they can control manufacturing and secure supply at a lower price…We believe retooling of the line has begun or is about to begin at the facility with February as a preliminary time frame for commercial production…This would put an iTV launch as early as the middle of 2012.
said Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies. Multiple sources are reporting that the players involved in the HDTV business are quite worried about Apple’s entry into that market. We have all seen what Apple has done in the tablet and smartphone markets. Mr. Misek suggests that the prospect of an Apple television set has sent the players in that market scrambling to figure out what the iTV will offer. It is highly doubtful that these companies can stop the iTV from getting a huge start when it is released.
You may not be able to pick up an iTV this Black Friday, but Apple is offering discounts on iPods, Macbooks, and iPads, 9to5 Mac has discovered. iPad 2s will be getting $41 to $61 discounts. iPods are discounted for $21 to $41. iMacs and MacBooks will go for $101 off. Plenty of accessories will also be up for grabs for lower prices. These Black Friday deals are not earth-shaking deals but worth checking out for Apple fans.
