Sprint & iPhone 5, iPad 3 To Get Lighter Battery?
0Those who have been following the journey of Apple iPhone from the very start know too well about some of the moves Apple has made to get this far. The company started by signing an exclusive agreement with AT&T. In order to expand its reach, Apple later agreed to bring iPhone 4 to Verizon. The time has come for other carriers to get their chance with iPhone. Most experts agree that Sprint could get to market iPhone 5 this time around. Sprint has been telling employees to stay mum on iPhone related issues. An interesting piece of wording in its lawsuit against AT&T suggests that iPhone 5 could indeed be coming to a new network later this year.
In this lawsuit, Sprint is not only praising Apple (something its executives have been doing a lot lately), it is also suggesting that the days of two carriers having the device all to themselves may be over. After all, a time to market advantage only applies when other carriers get the device later on. A leaked Best Buy document already suggests that Sprint customers could get the phone around October 21st.
iPhone 5 is a very exciting smartphone and well worth waiting for. But many of us are excited about iPad 3 as well. The 2nd generation Apple tablet left a whole lot to be desired. It was more of an evolutionary upgrade. Apple simply can’t afford to stumble this time around. The latest iPad 3 rumor suggests that its battery could be thinner and lighter than the ones used in the previous generation iPads. Simply Technology and Dynapack International Technology are the two companies tapped to manufacture these batteries. Not surprisingly, these batteries will cost Apple a tad bit more to manufacture. Could iPad 3 be a whole lot thinner than iPad 2? We will have to wait and see.
