Thanks! Saved me a bunch of time. There are a ton of chess programs for the iPhone. I just bought Shredder. Very slick app.
If you like the app, you’ve got to try the real thing on a PC. With the Elo of 2800, it’s one of the best programs ever made (chessbase.com)! And if you do decide to buy the PC program, let me know if you can beat it as I still haven’t managed that feat ๐
Guys, please, teach me: how do I install the new Pocket Fritz 3.0 on my (brand new) iPHONE 3G?
Thanks,
Mike
Have you tried Fritz Chess for iPhone? It’s specifically made for iPhone.
Glaurung Chess is really excellent. Very strong engine, aggressive play, all the options one would want. The fact that it’s free is great of course but that’s not what makes it so good.
Also, had previously downloaded “Chess O.” Don’t bother, it sucks feature-wise and crashes frequently.

Have you tried iChess Pack? A tons of features and absolutely free ๐

"Live Chess Viewer" is an iPhone app that lets you watch games being played live online. It is a great way to relax during your morning commute or while you wait in line. I watched Nakamura play a blitz game and had so much fun trying to guess what his next move would be.

Greetings! I’ve used Chess with Friends to play others online, but its own engine is not in the same league as those mentioned above. Chess.com has a nice UI for playing online, however I must access it straight from the App Store. Haven’t found an Install button.
