Windows Phone 7 Better Than iPhone OS?
2Microsoft seems to be finally getting serious about its mobile business. The company has been falling behind somewhat when you look at all that iPhone OS and Android have accomplished. Microsoft has hyped of Windows Phone 7 as one of its best works yet. The interface has been improved as well. If you happen to own a Zune, you have already gotten a small taste of what Windows Phone 7 is all about. Developers are going to get more tools to develop applications for the platform. The details are still sketchy about this platform, but that didn’t stop Steve Ballmer to hype up the platform:
We knew we needed and wanted to do things that were out of the box, that were clearly differentiated from our past and hopefully from other [products] in the market
While Windows Phone 7 could have been better in some areas, it does show that Microsoft is finally getting it. Microsoft is bringing Zune, Xbox, and Bing together in this platform. The redesign project for Windows Mobile 7 seems to have been a success. The OS has already received many thumbs ups from the experts for its minimal design and powerful UI. So it’s all a big step forward for Microsoft.
I have to say it’s exciting to see Microsoft step up to the plate and develop an OS that people may actually want to use. Microsoft will never out-Apple Apple. At the same time, it has developed a product that can change the landscape of mobile OS market. Google, Microsoft, and Apple are all at it again, and that means better products for us consumers. I do believe that Microsoft has taken too much time to “go outside the box.” But it’s better late than never. Besides, Microsoft has shown that it’s pretty decent in playing catch up. Should Apple be worried? That’s another story.
Are you excited about Windows Phone 7?
Windows phone is Bullsh, end of.
Mate, as an iOS and Android developer I personally think it is naive to overlook what Microsoft has to offer. It has potential and you can make money from it. From a user perspective windows phone 7 is unlike any other os they have come up with. It deserves a chance.
