35% of Android Users Might Switch To Bigger iPhone, $350 iWatch Fail?
0Apple is expected to announce larger iPhones later this year. Rumors suggest the company will have 4.7″ and 5.5″ handsets for folks to choose from. But will Android users actually switch? A new survey of smartphone shoppers by RBC Capital Markets suggests that a new iPhone with a larger display could encourage 35% of Android users to switch (out of 4000 respondents).
The survey suggested that a 5.5″ iPhone would be worth $100 for more many smartphone shoppers. Apparently, the current iPhone is way too small for many shoppers to consider picking one up. Consumers still want a phone with a decent battery life, fast processor, and a better camera, all of which Apple should be able to provide easily. This sounds like good news for Apple.
Speaking of new Apple products, the iWatch is also going to be launched later this year. Apple has not set a price for it yet. But a recent survey by Piper Jaffray suggests that most people are not willing to pay $350 just to get an iWatch. It is highly unlikely that Apple will charge $350 for its smartwatch though. We would love to see bigger sample groups for studies like this. But it is not surprising that a $200 iWatch sounds more appealing to shoppers.
