iPhone & iPad Sales Numbers, Apple Planning a Busy Fall
0Apple’s latest sales numbers are in, and they are not all great. Apple is still selling a ton of devices. But there are signs that the company needs to step up its game to gain more momentum in the tablet PC and smartphone markets. The 2013 Q3 numbers sales were mostly driven by iPhone sales. Even though Apple sold 14.6 million iPads, sales were down from last year.
Here are just a few interesting numbers that Apple revealed:
- $35.6b in sales
- 14.6m iPads sold
- 32.1m iPhones sold
- 50b apps downloaded
Apple is still selling a ton of devices, dominating in ad-revenue share, and achieving millions of downloads each month. We are still waiting for the iPad 5 and iPhone 5S though. Rumors have it that we won’t be seeing the iWatch or iPad mini 2 with Retina display this year. Can Apple deliver with its new products? That remains to be seen.
Speaking of new products, Apple CEO and other top executives seem to be quite excited about the products that are coming later this year (that is their job anyway). Tim Cook has mentioned that “[Apple is] working on some stuff that we’re really proud of.” Peter Oppenheimer has confirmed this is going to be a busy fall for Apple. We already know what Apple is likely to release in fall of 2013. Will there be any surprises? That’s hard to see at this time.
