Apple Testing Larger iPhone/iPad Screens, Budget iPhone with 1GB RAM?
0Apple has had an interesting year so far. We have heard a number of rumors about its upcoming products. The Wall Street Journal is the latest to report that Apple might be testing larger displays for iPhones and iPads. The idea of Apple releasing a 4.7″ or 5.7″ iPhone would not be that surprising. A 12.9″ iPad is going to be fun to play around with but less portable.
The idea does makes sense. Tablets and smartphones are not new product categories anymore. Many folks are already familiar with what Apple and its competitors have to offer. Apple is simply looking for ways to capture diversifying customer needs. It is not clear when we will see these larger iPads and iPhones though. The iPad 5 and iPhone 5S will be hitting the market in a couple of months. Too late to make changes now.
Apple may not release a 12.9 inch iPad this year but is still on target to debut its budget iPhone. The device will have cheaper components. It will be available in multiple colors with 1 GB RAM inside. There will be 2 iPhone lite models (one of which will have slightly better hardware components). This is according to a set of leaked documents that were covered on Phone Arena. Whether these phones will be huge hits remains to be seen.
