New iPod Touch for $229, iPad Mini 2 for $249?
0Apple does not have to hold huge events to release new products. The company already has a new iPod Touch you can get for only $229. We are talking about a 16 GB mp3 player with a 4-inch Retina display. There is a catch though: this device does not have a rear-facing camera. It does have a FaceTime HD camera and a dual-core Apple A5 processor. Here are the specifications for this iPod Touch:
- 4-inch (diagonal) widescreen display
- 1136-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 pixels per inch
- 500 cd/m2 max brightness
- FaceTime HD camera with 1.2MP photos and HD video (720p)
- Lightning connector
- Bluetooth 4.0
Lack of a rear-facing camera could be a deal-breaker for some. Apple has eliminated the lanyard loop too. Considering that new iPhones and iPads are going to be released in the next few months, you may want to wait a bit to see what else Apple will have to offer before spending money on this iPod. The 4th generation iPod is now done though.
Apple is going to be releasing the next generation iPad mini later this year. Many of us have assumed the device will be sold for $299. But there are now rumors going around that Apple might release a budget iPad mini 2 for $249. The current generation iPad mini is going for as low as $329 (Walmart has them for $299). You can buy one refurbished $279. A $249 Apple tablet could be a huge hit with consumers.
This sounds like a rumor someone just made up without any evidence at this point. We need to see a lot more before believing this story.
