4.94 Inch iPhone Plus? CalypsoKey for iPhone Unlocks Doors
0We have heard a lot of rumors about the upcoming iPhones in the past couple of months. Many experts have been skeptical about the iPhone Math rumor. Instapaper developer Marco Arment has put together a few mockups and ideas that suggest such a device would not be a crazy idea.
The recently rumored, larger-screened “iPhone Math”, or more likely “iPhone Plus”, is plausible as an additional model (not a replacement) alongside the 4” iPhone. And there’s a good chance that it would have a 4.94”, 16:9 screen…. By keeping the pixel dimensions the same as the iPhone 5, no app changes would be necessary. While the larger screen would hinder one-handed use, two-handed use would actually be easier because the touch targets would all be larger, and UIKit’s standard metrics and controls still work well at that physical size.
Why would Apple want to release such a device? There is this crazy trend of phones getting larger each and every year. Considering that the smartphone business is highly competitive, Apple may have no choice but to offer larger iPhones to keep its momentum. The so-called iPhone Plus would sit somewhere between Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II and make Apple’s iPhone lineup more formidable. This continues to remain a rumor at this point.
There is no secret that the iPhone does not take advantage of NFC technology at this point. But there are products you can pick up to bring near field communication to the device. The CalypsoKey happens to be one of those. It turns your iPhone into a key capable of opening doors. With this tool, you will be able to use your phone as your main key to various places around your home. It has dual-band RFID antenna and will be compatible with most RFID NFC worldwide access points.
There is no word on when Apple will add NFC to iPhone. Thanks to CalypsoKey, you get to use your phone to get things done around your home.
