Pre-ordering iPhone 5, Lightning to HDMI/VGA Adapters Coming
0Apple announced the new iPhone just a couple of days ago. You won’t be getting it till September 21st (earliest). But you can always pre-order yours to make sure you get it soon. Apple has already started taking pre-orders for its new devices. In fact, it seems to have sold out its initial inventory of the iPhone 5. The shipping time has slipped to two weeks already. That suggests the demand for the new iPhone is quite strong.
The iPhone 5 is not a revolutionary upgrade over the iPhone 4S. But it does have a faster processor, larger display, and LTE support. It also has a new cable (Lightning) and will run iOS 6. The cheapest iPhone will cost you $199 but you could spend as much as $399 on these shiny gadgets. The iPhone 5 is not the only product Apple is selling fast. The Lightning to USB cable is also selling well (it will ship in 2-3 weeks).
Apple’s cables are not always cheap. The Lightning to 30 pin adapter will cost you $29 already. The company is planning to bring Lightning to HDMI and VGA to the market soon. But if you need video output, you will have to wait a couple of months for the appropriate cables to debut. It seems Apple is going to be making a ton of money selling cables and adapters this time around.
