Next iPod Nano to Offer WiFi, Cloud Support, iPhone Launch Date: Sept. 21st
0We have heard a ton of rumors about the new iPhone already. The leaks so far have suggested that the iPhone 5 will have a larger display, smaller docking port, and a slightly different design. Apple is expected to announce the device some time in September. Most experts believe that will be on September 12th. TechCrunch is now reporting that AT&T and Verizon both have a vacation blackout in place from September 21st to the 30th. That would suggest both companies expecting a huge event for that period.
An AT&T sales rep has told the site that carrier employees are now getting training for an “iconic” release. Apple may be great in keeping its secrets. But there is a mountain of evidence pointing to the new iPhone getting launched on September 12th, going up for pre-order on the 15th, and shipping starting September 21st. Considering Apple’s huge victory over Samsung this past weekend, the upcoming iPhone and iPad events are going to be even more special for Apple and its fans.
Apple won’t be just launching an iPhone in a few weeks. It is very possible that the iPod nano will get an upgrade as well. Macotakara, a Japanese blog, is suggesting that the new iPod nano will feature WiFi connectivity and support for iTunes Music cloud. Adding these features to iPod Nanos would make these tiny mp3 players a whole lot more useful. This is just a rumor at this point, so we will have to wait and see.
